The Chituka Village Project (CVP) is a small privately run charity that collects donations of used and new sports equipment and school supplies. The project is designed to attract children to stay in school and shun attitudes that keep them away from education, such as a lack of motivation and a lack of resources. Most children in the district drop out of school at primary level. The Banda Bola Sports Foundation works to help youths grow in an environment that, among other things, is conducive to a better understanding of their well being.  The Chituka Village Project
A Note From Coach Banda
During December 2007 and January 2008, I visited my village of Chituka in Malawi, Africa and brought soccer equipment and school supplies to the children there as well as to surrounding villages. The Children of these villages were so blessed by what they received, and the smiles on their faces revealed the joy in these gifts. These blessings cannot continue without your help, though. We ask that you would consider the deep impact these gifts provide for the children over a lifetime, and help us continue in this work through your gifts to the Banda Bola Sports Foundation-Chituka Village Project.
Malenga Mzoma Primary School alone has 500-600 students from grade 1 through 8. Bandawe Primary School, Macalpine Primary School, and Chifira Primary School have equal numbers. Please look through the following list of supplies urgently needed. Monetary gifts and donations of all sizes are needed and appreciated. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Coach Banda
HEALTH
- All basic first aid supplies, kits, first aid guides, trash bags, plastic zipper bags
- Isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, cotton balls
- Hygiene/toiletry items, toilet paper, female hygiene products, comfort items
- OTC medications -please check expiration dates!
SPORTS
- Equipment for Soccer, Track & Field, Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Tennis, and Volleyball, new or gently used sneakers appropriate for sports
- Coaches kits and manuals, stop watches, whistles, game rules
- Team uniforms, uniforms for officials, sports undergarments.
SCHOOL
- All general classroom supplies, writing utensils, crayons, paper, notebooks
- Preschool items, crayons, coloring books, educational toys, curriculum items
- K-8 curriculum items for all subjects, books, dictionaries, grammar books
- Flash cards, manipulatives, games: scrabble, chess, checkers, puzzles
- Tape, rulers, pencil sharpeners, scissors, staplers/staples/removers
- Calculators, compasses, white and colored chalk, tape recorders, batteries
MISCELLANEOUS
- Clothing items, flip flops, rain gear, umbrellas, flashlights, mosquito nets
- Bibles, reading glasses, reading lights, magnifying glasses
